Are you looking for a speaker for your church, community, book, or student group?

I am available to talk to small groups from college students on up, about any issue about which I write on this site: poverty and justice, politics and economics (as they relate to justice and/or the environment).  Because of my Alzheimer's, I am only lecturing to large groups about my experience with Alzheimer's (that is, I don't lecture to large groups about the other issues I write about on the site), but I do still lecture small groups about the other issues.  My teaching with small groups is not yet impaired, so I can still teach on any of the issues on the site.  I wecome the opportunity to speak to faith-based groups about a theological perspective on these issues.

I am especially eager to speak to groups about my experience with cognitive impairment.  This is a disease that scares us and embarrasses us, and I would like to help make it a little more familiar to anyone interested.

If your book group is interested in reading any of my three books (Healing the Wounds - a memoir about the contradictions of medicine, Not all of Us Are Saints - a memoir about the my medical practice in the impoverished inner city, or Urban Injustice - a history of the inner-city black ghetto) I's be very interested in joining you for discussion.

Please contact me to discuss the possibilities.
